Change in job description.
On the road to success with input from outside.
A blinkered attitude doesn't change, even when it comes to the job market. Sometimes you don't notice that things have moved on until somebody from outside turns up. That is what happened at a medium-sized industrial company.
Following the retirement of an employee who had been working at the company for many years, the client urgently sought a successor to head the technical departments within the company but could not find a suitable applicant. What the client had not taken into consideration was that this person's activities had changed in focus over time and it was not until they participated in a structured consulting discussion using P+P tools that the job role and requirements for this position were redefined. The result of this process: the position was successfully filled within the shortest possible time.
